Included with your service
Great Lengths extension brush
Specially designed to work through extensions without stressing the bonds. Brush row by row from the nape, scalp to ends, at least three times daily to prevent tangling and matting at the attachment sites.
GL anti-tap water spray
Applied after every wash as a final step. Neutralizes chlorine, hard water minerals, and pH imbalances that can break down keratin bonds. Seals the cuticle, locks in moisture, and protects against environmental stress.
Removal service
After three to four months you will be ready to remove your extensions and order fresh hair. A solution is applied to dissolve your bonds and the hair is gently combed out. We then provide a clarifying shampoo, nourishing mask and blow your hair out. This service can be combined with your color appointment.

Great Lengths keratin bonds are a long-term investment in your hair. Consistent salon visits are a required part of the process — not optional add-ons.
Day 1
Installation
Your extensions are applied strand by strand. No shampooing for the first 48 hours — this allows the keratin bonds to fully cure and set.
2 weeks after
Bond check-in
A quick return visit to confirm all bonds have settled correctly. Any strands that haven't taken are replaced at this appointment — this is a standard part of the process, not a sign something went wrong.
8 weeks after
Halfway assessment
We check for shedding, tangling, and overall bond health. This visit also lets us plan ahead and secure your removal and reinstall appointment so you're never caught off schedule.
3–4 months after
Removal
Bonds are professionally removed using a specialized solution — no damage to your natural hair when done correctly and on schedule. We follow with a clarifying shampoo and nourishing mask, and blow your hair out. This appointment can be combined with your color service.
48 hours after removal
Reinstall
Fresh hair is ordered and your new extensions are applied. Waiting 48 hours after removal allows your scalp to settle before the next application, ensuring the best possible bond and the healthiest result.
A note on home care
The single biggest factor in how long your extensions last — and how easily they remove — is your daily routine at home. Brushing three times a day, applying anti-tap spray after every wash, and keeping bonds dry between washes will protect your investment and keep your hair healthy throughout the wear cycle. Extensions that are neglected at home require significantly more time to remove.
